The GeoKurdistan VII Conference serves as a significant scientific assembly within the fields of earth science, featuring diverse ideas and recent advancements. It encourages researchers to actively engage in the event, held once in two years, fostering participation and knowledge exchange. Since its inception in 2012, this conference has continuously progressed, elevating the quality and quantity of submitted papers. Organized by the Department of Earth Sciences and Petroleum at the University of Sulaimani, in collaboration with the Geological Society of Kurdistan, the conference primarily concentrates on various facets of Kurdistan’s geology and neighbouring regions. National and international scientists are welcomed by the organized committee, urging them to participate with active involvement in this significant event.
The primary goal of GeoKurdistan is to provide an engaging platform and immersive learning experience to its diverse audience in order to help shape the future of the fields of earth sciences, natural resources, and economics and industry.
The GeoKurdistan VII will be held in the city of Sulaimani, at the new campus of University of Sulaimani during the period of 3-5th  November 2026. The conference provides a unique opportunity for academicsand professional geologists to exchange innovative ideas in different fields of geosciences, address new challenges, share solutions, and outline future research directions and recommendations.
The official language of the conference will be English.
The organizing committee welcomes a geological poster dealing with up-to-date scientific problems. The poster must be with the conference template four weeks before the conference starts. Poster templates will be sent via conference email.

The accepted presentations would be orally presented according to the program of the conference in different sessions. Poster presentations are also accepted in printed form (link-pdf file). Â All the manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word format to the email:Â geokurdistan.conference@univsul.edu.iq within the announced deadlines. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper.
The Organizing Committee of the 7th International geological Conference of Kurdistan invites author(s) to submit their abstracts for oral or poster presentations. The abstracts will be reviewed by the international Scientific Committee, which will make the final decision on how each paper will be presented. When preparing your abstracts, please use the Abstract Guidelines available at the Conference web site www.gk-conference.comPlease use the conference email geokurdisan.conference@univsul.edu.iq The abstract submission deadline is June 30th , 2026. Please select the scientific area and the scientific topic of your paper. Each Conference participant can be the author or co-author of one or several papers. All the authors or co-authors who present their papers at the conference have to pay the registration fee. In case of unforeseen or exceptional circumstances, the change of the author/s or co-author/s presenting their papers can be reported by e-mail to us.
All the authors who receive a positive review of their abstracts are invited to submit full papers which will be published in Sulaimani Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences (SUJPAS). The Guidelines for Full Papers and posters will be available at the Conference web site https://sjpas.univsul.edu.iq/. The deadline for the submission of fully high- papers and posters is August 1st, 2026. The authors are kindly asked to have in mind that the abstracts in the English language will be included in the Book of Abstracts.
The Scientific Committee of the Conference will, having reviewed all the submitted full papers, propose to the editorial board of Sulaimani Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences (SUJPAS) to consider the publication of full high-quality papers submitted for the conference, possibly also as a special issue.
The program will take place over three days. The opening ceremony will be held on the morning of the first day, Tuesday the 3rd, then sessions of presentations will start; during conference days, poster presentations and exhibitions will carry on. The closing ceremony will be held in the late afternoon of the third day. On Thursday, the 5th, a very nice and useful field trip will be arranged to a special area northeast of Slemani city.
